GRADUATE POSING GUIDE

Below is a list of some of my favorite poses in case you need any inspiration. Feel free to take a look, and I can always give pointers during your session

Grad Outfit

Feel free to start with your graduate outfit, posing with a hand in your pocket, adding a blazer to use as a LinkedIn headshot, and more!

walking

Movement during a photo always helps it look more natural! Whether you’re walking towards, away, or perpendicular to the camera, walking can create some great moments

Plaza bench

Time: Evening

While the image above was taken in the evening, if it’s not overcast the sunlight can be pretty harsh here. Mornings are usually great because the nearby buildings can block the sunlight and create some nice shade!

Plaza of the Americas

Time: Morning/Evening

Plaza of the Americas is one of my favorite spots on UF’s campus because of the tree cover and greenery. This spot is perfect between locations, and can have great lighting most of the day!

Plaza alleyway

Time: Evening

The images above were taken moments before sunset during golden hour. This spot is a great place if we’re already visiting Plaza of the Americas and either finishing the session, or heading towards Murphree or Gatorwalk! (As long as it’s not during class change)

Murphree/Thomas hall

Time: Morning/Evening

Since the arch covers where you’ll be standing, this archway is perfect most times of the day.

Something to keep in mind, this location only allows for one graduate at a time, which means we’ll have to be respectful if other people are waiting in line. This spot can also attract a lot of grads and can be a long wait time!

GATORWALK

Time: Morning/evening

Gatorwalk is the most popular place (and most recognizable area) on UF’s campus. During the later weeks of the semester, Gatorwalk can be PACKED and lead to some long wait times. I’d usually suggest starting a session here, or ending here with 20 - 30 minutes to allow for enough wait times towards the busy season

Gatorwalk Gator

Time: Morning or Evening

The Gatorwalk Gator can be paired well with a visit to Gatorwalk because it is right at the north end of the stadium. As long as it isn’t midday, this area is a great pitstop before or after Gatorwalk

THE STADIUM

This location gets a spot of its own because of the many areas we can go!

Keep in mind, visiting the stadium (as well as any other location on campus) is never a given and it often closes without warning. While this is a favorite of mine on campus, it can be difficult to make sure that we make it inside!

The Stands

Time: Morning/Evening

This spot depends on the area in the stands. If you’d like “THIS IS THE SWAMP”, an evening session will allow us to be in the shade. However, morning sessions can take advantage of the corner that says “THIS IS GATOR COUNTRY”!

The field

Time: Evening

If a session starts at sunrise, the field will have a large area under the shade until about 8am/9am. After 5:30pm, the shade will come back leaving most of the field covered near sunset!

Bull gator

Time: Sunset

The Bull Gator can be difficult because it is in direct sunlight, but photo sessions closest to sunset can be so much fun!

aLBERT AND ALBERTA

Time: Morning or Evening

Since Albert and Alberta are wedged between two buildings, sunrise and sunset are both great times to a photo session here. Up to you how up close and personal you’d like to get with the statues, I promise they don’t bite!
